Children Can Do More Than You Think | Max Woosey | TEDxBath

When his friend Rick was dying, he gave 10-year-old Max Woosey a tent and made him promise to have an adventure. Max decided to camp out in his garden and raise money for charity. Two years later, he’s still there and has raised more than £700,000 . The ‘Boy in the Tent’ tells a personal story about community and resilience, and the surprising things that children can do when they put their mind to it. Twelve-year old schoolboy Max Woosey, widely known as ‘The Boy In The Tent’, became famous when he raised more than £700,000 for charity by camping out in his garden for more than two years in honour of his friend, who had died. In that time, Max went though a personal journey of his own, learning about community, resilience and mental health. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
