Visionary and Changemaker: Lessons in Leadership from David Bowie | Rose Hair | TEDxNazarethCollege

In this TEDxNazarethCollege talk, Rose Hair, Ph.D. explores how rock star David Bowie’s out-of-the-box thinking and actions make him a changemaker. Bowie took positions on equity and diversity and stood with those ridiculed for having long hair in the 1960s, long before diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts were popular. In the 1980s, for example, he challenged MTV to play more diverse music. Tomorrow belongs to those who can hear it coming. Dr. Hair serves on Nazareth’s Human Resource Advisory Council and was a 2017-18 fellow for Nazareth’s Teaching Integration and Innovation Lab (TIIL). She has a B.A. in History of Design and Art, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK; M.S. in Human Resource Management, Sheffield Hallam University, UK; Ph.D., The University of Sheffield Management School, UK. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
